About me

From a young age I was fascinated by the pinhole camera and the magical world that could be brought to live with such a piece of cardboard. During my graphic design studies, analog photography was still part of the curriculum, and I found it utterly captivating. However, after some experiments with my father’s Minolta SLR, I realized that the rather slow process of analog photography didn’t quite match the fast-paced lifestyle I led as a teenager in the 80’s.

I chose a career in the graphic arts, a field where I had the chance to work with images from top photographers, while adding my own twist to them in graphic productions. I was there when the first scanners hit the market and Adobe Photoshop was introduced. This kept me closely connected to photography altough I only took snapshots with simple automatic cameras myself.

Later, as analog photography gradually gave way to digital, I felt like it was finally my turn! I started with a small compact cameras that easily fitted in my pocket and I could carry everywhere. But before long, the limitations of these point-and-shoot cameras led me to switch to a DSLR.

Gradually, photography became part of my work alongside my role as an art director. Today, I also regularly teach evening photography classes for adult education.

Music has also been a great passion in my life, both as a music lover and as a musician. During recent shoots, I often simultaneously create field recordings, which are used to develop soundscapes and music which goes hand in hand with the photo series. However, due to the fleeting nature of the internet, it isn’t possible to present this combo effectively on a website. Therefore, the audiovisual aspect is exclusively reserved for exhibitions, where it can be fully appreciated.
